Your's reminded of this one taken of me in 1972. first truck , small s/hand and i did sand deliveries both big and small to get my business off the ground.
I was boxing a lot then , playing football and doing a lot of motor sports , with all that and the day job i was very fit .
When i look back at that black hair , i wonder where the time has gone , just flown by . still pretty fit ,but if i had to do it all again now , i'd likely have a heart attack.:D .
Now you can see where the 'sandman' comes from .

Your photos remind me of this one.
Me....at the VERY biginning of my life with cameras, and animals! Good story to go with this shot too. I actually developed the roll of film this shot was on. It was a long lost roll my father shot several years ealier. I found it when I was about 12 or 13, and was shocked to see ALL the images on that film were me with this Penguin & also a blow up punching bag clown. I believe this was the actual beginning of my fascination with photography! One more thing, When I got my baby book, I found my mother had documented my very first real word was *picture*. Blew me away when I saw that in combo with this photo!

Wow! What a great story this is! However I must say I'm stumped trying to figure out what kind of camera you are using.

All I know is it was a *real* BROKEN camera!
I don't have that camera is LONG gone.....Not a clue what it was. Well, maybe a Kodak? I remember asking my father what kind of camera it was...all he could tell me was the obvious...it was a 35mm...DUH!
I know my father had a Retina before he got into Nikons. I still have a few of his old F bodies....in working condition, with working meter heads too!

Alissa, that is sooooo cute, its certainly a moment frozen in time.
Brian, you were quite cute too
although I shouldn't be mentioning that in public
But serioulsly, my young bloke Mark, (25) recently had an abortive business venture with a truck. He bought a used 2 ton tipper and was going to do deliveries and removals etc.
Sold it after 6 weeks at a loss, clients were too unreliable, he's doing a computer course and a management course this year.
:D

Look at the tone and saturation in that shot! Its beautiful. I have often thought of late that we've lost lot in photography thinking every shot has to be unnaturally sharp. There's a quality here that's hard to achieve digitally today.

I love these shots! Alissa, You shouldn't sit like that, darlin', it's called W sitting and very hard on the knees.
I didn't start that young, but had my own brownie by age 9. Wish I still had that! I 'upgraded' to an instamatic for HS graduation.

Ha...Linda, I only WISH I could still sit like that!
My First camera was a little green camera, I think it was a Brownie (I could read yet, so I'm not sure!). It was actually my friend's camera, but I was the one shooting with it. I don't think my friend ever touched the thing. Her mom & me would change film in the guest cloest, and off I would go again, photographing all the neighborhood pets! I was all of about 5 or 6.
I never saw any of the photos I shot, I think we were just recycling the film.......

I love to read your stories, especially the story from Alissa.
When I saw the pic with the little girl, it reminds me to my son.
He started asking me if he can make photos also when he was 5. Half a year later he was allowed to use my old HP612 digicam. Itīs sometimes fascinating how children see the world thru a lens.
Attached picture was taken by him in Feb. last year. He was 5 1/2.
BTW, my parants never allowed me to take a photo when I was a child. Too expensive they told me .... Iīve made my first one 4 years ago.

One of the assignments I always gave to students was to use 1 36exp roll of film and shoot every frame from a "child's point of view". It was interesting, the results. Many would just take things from a low camera angle and there would be just a few who would look at things with a wonder and curiousity ---- also from a lower camera angle, of course!
Expand how you look at things, you'll be amazed at what else you see.

Thanks Wilm....
Let your son keep taking photos! He's got a really great start already!
I have photos of my father squatting down, to get to my level, so I could take his picture, when I was a little kid.
People still have to squat for me to take their pics!
 (I'm not even close to 5' tall!) I never grew up, and I like that!:D
