Nikon Sb 800...

i bought sb800 flash 3 days ago, n dis is my 1st time bought n use external flash.
i wanna ask about is d TTL mode problem.
when i'm using with my 24-120 VR n tamron 19-35 lens, it's okay. no problem at all. but when i'm using 50mm 1.8, all images r dark (underexpose).
is it not compatible with fix focal lens or only 50mm 1.8 isn't compatible?? anyone knows about dis problem?

what "asa", synch speed and what f/?
i personally use 50 mm. f/1.8 with external flash, and got no problem.

try to switch to centre weighted mode.

I had the same "problem" with my 50mm/1.8 and SB-80DX.
The images got dark. I think that's because the 50mm isn't a D type lens. Anyway, this lens ALWAYS produces images that are a bit darker than the others (it's a benefit in my opinion), so you can just add a +0.5 and it'll work.

I am going to purchase either the 800 or 600 to go with my Nikon D70, since the SB80DX doesn't support any of it's i-TTL features - anyone know if the SB800 will work any better with the S2 than the SB80 has? - unpredictable for sure...

I have just changed my SB80dx guns to the SB800 and they do seam to work better,has anyone else noticed this?.

The SB800 is supposed to work as an 80dx on the s2 but the matrix ttl and ttl seam to work better.

I just purchased or ordered the sb800 from jandr for 20 dollars off usual price today only. The reason I got it is for my new D70. Will be interested to see how well it works with the S2.
