For Canadian S2 owners go to:

S2 Canadian link (http://www.fujifilm.ca/CorporateInfo/DisplayNewsroomArticle.asp?ParentID=7&SectionID=85&newsroomID=81)

Pretty much the same story as with the US advisory.

The box is unopened, Fuji says return it. I just bought it an hour ago.
My luck.

My S2 has given an ERR message after changing AA batteries, but the camera remained functional, and the ERR message resolved (I can't remember, but I think I just continued with shooting mode). My S2 is not listed in the recall (# begins 23A0...). Has anyone else had this occur? I've emailed Fuji with this question, but have not received response yet.

I just got my S2. It's one of them listed above. Haven't had any trouble after 500 pictures. I had the batteries out several times. The only scare was when the camera played dead and the cr123's were gone.

Surprisingly the dealer still has the S2 I return after one week. I'm anxious but don't need it. should I consider getting this camera now, even though it is on the list?

The shop had a couple of S2's come in today that were not on the bad list. Higher numbers , a couple hundred about the 10300 range. I just could not let go of the money yet.

Yeah I was thinking I should send my camera in. However I'm in the service industry. And I know the level of the tech can vary greatly. What if I send my camera in and then it has some intermittent problem that it didn't have before? For all I know the modification is bending the battery terminals out. Does anyone know what exactly is done with this modification. I guess I'm going from the frame of mind if it ain't broke don't fix it. I guess i'm just a little suspicious. If anyone knows exactly what this mod is all about please post it here.

When you say "they" do you mean Fugi? So what you're saying is if I send my body in they will give me a new one? Not a refurb?
