I have a lot of photos on my pc so I was going to archive them onto CDs. I generally shoot in RAW format and have decided to archive them in original TIFF format.

The problem I am having is with the CD burning software I think. Everytime I try to burn the cd's the files copy onto the cd and then I get an error message saying one or more files can't be verified. Data does not match orignal. When I look at the pictures on cd it seems to only mess up on one or two pictures out of around 20. I have tried this with different sets of tiff files with the same result.

My software is Record Now which came with the computer. HP has a slideshow creator but it converts the files to JPEG. Record Now is the only option I have on my computer for saving Tiff files to cd.

Has anyone else experienced similar problems? Does anyone recommend any particular software for cd writing of high resolution photos?

I use Roxio Easy CD & DVD Creator 6 .
Burns TIF & RAW files onto cd or dvd really fast , depending on the speed of your drives.
Also lets you cherry pick any combo of files from your hard drive .

Thanks for all of your replies.

I have been looking at Roxio Easy CD & DVD creator v6. I almost bought it and then read some bad reviews on amazon regarding it messing up drive configuration with windows XP. It sounds like you are using it w/ any problems. Maybe the reviews were bogus. I am looking at a laptop that comes with the Roxio software cd so I think I will hold off on buying it for now.

Marcel thanks for the advice on write speed. I tried setting the write speed to the slowest setting and the cd was created w/o any errors. It took about 15 minutes but at least it's working now. yeah I don't have to go buy anthing new for now!!!

Thanks again.

Mary,
My experience in the past has been that Roxio software caused instability on my system, and incompatibilities with other things on my system.
I have had the best luck with Nero. It works every time, and I have had no stability issues.
