Has any one experience of using and SCA module and the S" with a Metz 45 flash unit? Has it been successful, and if so what module should I use?
I work primarily on weddings and use very little flash, but I would appreciated some automation with my off camera flash. I have set it up to work on manual, but this reduces flexibility.

Thansk for your thoughts ladies and gentlemen.

Hi Mike,
just the manual mode you use is the best way to get well metered pictures. the S2pro TTL feature does not work correctly.
see Flash problems (http://www.theswampbbs.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1215) and some other issues for further information.

Thank you for your kind advice. I am largely coming to the same conclusion, although I have had to rate the flash gun about one half stop less to give a good exposure rather than overexpose a shot. It does mean that you have to think a little bit quicker during a wedding, especially if I am using fill flash. Perhaps that is the problem, at my age perhaps I need the module implant not the camera!

Mike,

I can't speak for the S2, But it doesn't work properly with the S1.

I have a Metz CL-4 w/SCA3402 and a SCA3000c.

I'm disappointed to hear it won't work on the S2, since I may end up buying one.

I use my set-up with all manual settings, on the flash unit and the camera, and I keep an eye on the Histogram.

I love that histogram.
