I sent a 2 month old S2 in for repai and they sent me a loaner. I got my S 2 back from Fuji today and they said they can't find a problem with the camera. I spoke to the Customer rep and ask for a new replacement and they said the best they can do is allow me to keep the loaner. Wow! that was a surprise I have a brand new S 2 that is defective and instead of a new camera they want to give me a camera that was most likely a reconditioned one anyways. What would you do keep the loaner? What else can I do Fuji won't stand behind there warranty.

What was wrong with your camera?
And, how did you arrange for a loaner to begin with?
Thanks

I use a Metz 54mz3 flash. I have had the camera lock up about 6 times in the last 5 weddings. what happens is the correct exposure light on the flash stays lighted. The camera gets an error message and everything freezes. the only way to get the camera to work is to turn off the flash then the camera will work again. But when you bride is walking with her father and the camera freezes it can be a bit of a heart stopper. Fuji tested the camera and said we didnt have it freeze up so there isnt a problem. I recently got the Nikon SB-80DX and since wedding season has slowed in Ohio for me I havent had a chance to shoot a bunch and see if it will lock up. The loaner camera has a lower serial number then mine so it must be older I would really like a new S2.
I asked for one and they gave me one.

Unless the bride is an essential part of the test, you can put the camera on continuous shooting in the privacy of your own home, depress the shutter and fill a few cards, (at least until the batteries die). I like to experiment myself.

I sent my S1 camera to Fuji, estimate repair around $630.00 to repair a bent
shutter curtain. They want to replace the whole mid section of the camera
that includes the CCD within. I told them, no, pack it and send it back and
they did just do that.
In Seattle the camera was repaired by a very expert camera repair store
within 5 minutes and for $20.00 by reinserting the shutter curtain in the
track. Works like new.
Stay away from Fuji repair if you can. The company will not go out of their
way IMO to satisfy their customer.
I do own more a small fortune in Fuji equipment's, they work great their
products one of the best but their customer relation and repair facility
SUCKS!!!!

Fuji customer service is not very good.
I hate to repeat myself, as I have written this in another thread. It is such a shame that a really great product range is let down by such poor aftersales service. I deal with Fuji UK, and only hope that there service in other countries is better.
Happy Shooting
Simon
