I don't know if others have experienced this problem or not. I cant see any obvious threads here reporting the problem.

One problem/bug that I have found is that I cannot get the S2 to be seen when connected by Firewire. The USB works fine.
The drive is seen in My Computer but when you click on it or when in FinePix Viewer it says that there is no media present.
I am using a 340MB Microdrive. I will test with SmartMedia as well in the next few days and also with a CF card.

Cracked the problem with the S2 and firewire.
Must be down to the IBM Microdrive interface. I was using either 340MB or 1GB microdrive in the S2.

I put in a 128MB SmartMedia and the Firewire worked straight away.
Next tested with 128MB CF cards and they worked too.

Last of all re-tested with 1GB and 340MB Microdrives.
No read by PC. The drives are seen in My Computer but they cannot be read.!!

Seems like there may be a problem in the FinePix software.
When mounted in a card reader or Nikon D1X the Microdrives can be read no problem.

My config is: P4 2GHz with 1GB RAM, SCSI disks (400GB on 6 drives), Win2k Pro & SP2, OCHI compliant Firewire card that works fine with my D1X and Capture 2.

Fuji UK Tech support say they haven't seen the problem before and didn't seem to interested to take a report so they could try and ffind a fix !!.

I use Firewire with my S2 and an IBM 1GB microdrive. I have had no problems, except when I had selected 1394 shooting instead of downloading!!!! The computer of course wouldn't recognise the drive!

I don't think I was clear here. The shooting software is not supplied in the UK, so that was why the 1394 shooting wasn't working. The point I was trying to make is that stupid me selected shooting mode on the camera instead of downloading! Not a fault with the camera, but with me!
