Nervous? I once saw a large buck in an open area between homes. It was very nervous. My host bet that I could not get a shot of it, so I carefully slid open the door, waited a few seconds, the buck looked right at us, I brought my camera to my eye, autofocused - it was gone. I didn't get the shot.
