I went out this morning for barn owl pics as I found a nest the other day, but it was windy and overcast and saw nothing, but did get these swallow pics..
I used a different technique for sharpening that I was showed recently, do these look over sharpened?
Thanks.

A very nice set. To me they all look slightly oversharpened - the feathers are starting to look a bit "crunchy" and there is a hint of a halo around the outlines. It is only slightly though - if you are using multiple sharpening passes try one less?
I am using an LCD monitor, which I find makes things look sharper then my CRT
I use 100, .2, 0 for my sharpening and for web size I use about 4 passes (but everyone has a different recipe and they all seem to work!)

Cheers Gary, like I say I did try something new..both in camera and post editing even though I do usually get sharp results..I usually give it 200, 3, 2..I did give an extra sharpening at half of these values after flattening, to my eye they werent quite right so I was only checking..they actually printed better than they look on screen for some reason..back to original settings Ive played around enough, at Farnes this Friday so need gear spot on..
