Coming from 'old school' where I almost always shot a grey card when lighting conditions changed, I found this a habit that carried over into the digital world. I'm sure all of you have struggled at one time or another to get accurate white balance, especially when faced with a mixed lighting environment. I've used expodisc, as well as cardboard 'grey card' to set custom white balance in camera, however, lately I've been handling white balance adjustment post processing. I've been shooting youth portraits for a photo board of a local childrens chorus, as well as adult choir. The lighting varies - including ambient, tungsten, and incadescent. As I've purchased in the past a couple of other products by Lastolite, I decided to buy their small 'ezybalance' grey 'card'. I carry this with me all the time, and when faced with different lighting conditions, I'll shoot a baseline shot and adjust white balance post processing to the entire batch of shots taken under the same lighting. I have no association with the company, just giving my positive thumbs up on it.
