Hello everyone!

Its a long time since I have been here, largely because Ross and I have been spending a lot of time working at our local wildlife hospital.

We have volunteered to run a beginners wildlife photography workshop to raise funds for the hospital and this will involve a morning in the classroom followed by some practical work in the afternoon.

I want to be prepared if the weather is bad (a fair chance in the UK) so I want to be able to shoot inside - out subjects will likely be a Bird of Prey and some small mammals. has anyone got any ideas for cheap lighting. The workshop guests will likely be using Point and shoots. I am wondering if I can use workshop type lights - I think they are 500w halogen and some sort of diffusion?

Hi Gary! You guys aren't the only ones, forum participation has been down a lot.We have volunteered to run a beginners wildlife photography workshop to raise funds for the hospital...Compliments and praises to you and Ross!!
I'm not a good one to answer your question, but wanted to share a site that I found while Google-ing it. Budget DIY lighting (http://www.shuttertalk.com/articles/diylighting) might shed a bit of light on it...pun intended. :)
Bear in mind that I haven't used this, but sounds/looks good...

Thanks Dave - I tried to comment on your fish jumping and Chaz's cars but got a database error.....

Edit - that's excellent - the stand that I have got is virtually identical to the one they show :) :)
