Since Day 1, I've been getting a "Red Line" (actualy it's magenta) horizontally across 9/10 of each frame. It is more pronounced on underexposures but exists on all shots whether RAW or JPEG, and appears on all media used. Size is from 1-3 pixels wide. Attached is a blowup of it, it has been enhanced by contrast and sharpening to better show the problem. Any ideas on the cause would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ron Green

I think it is a symptom of a defective sensor. Have Fuji replace the sensor or camera. If you paid via credit card, you may have more options. Tell your camera dealer. Document the problem, with dated, unmanipulated files (hopefully from your first shots) on CD, including RAW files. Don't try to clean the sensor, or Fuji could blame it on you. Your results are far from typical, you should expect better. Call Fuji NOW!

I don't think it could be something on the sensor filter, since most dust spots show up as fuzzy blobs. Your stripe shows up as one color, which would not happen if something was on the sensor. It is sharp, so I would say it is something IN the sensor. I don't think it would be possible to scratch the surface from edge to edge, or do it perfectly straight. I think it is obvious that it is a bad sensor.

I'll second Tom's opinion. All digicams have a few hot or dead pixels, but it looks as if your sensor has a hot row. I'm sure Fuji will fix this without any hassles.

Camera was gone one week, I FedEx'd to them they FedEx'd back, they replaced CCD Plate (Part #M204), problem appears fixed on test frames.
