I just finished talking to Gwen (???) at Tallyns to try and get on the wait list, the place I am on the wait list is not getting any cameras, and she said something to the effect that there will be no cameras from Aug 5th to the 19th??? Something about an update to a microchip????
Has anyone else heard this and what is the info???
No I am not worried about the S2 in general but would like to get a camera soon.

Update....
Justr bought my camera from Alkit. Still haven't heard anymore on the delay but I hope that there isn't any truth to it.
So this time next week, watch out!!!!

All the shops I inquired at told me there was a waiting list of 200 people, a 6 week wait, etc., and that they were getting S2s in about 2 per week. I got to handle a demo unit at Calumet Photo in Bensenville, IL and was impressed.
Sheesh!
I was going to get on all the waiting lists I could. When a camera came in, I would cancel all the others. I am sure many people waiting are on multiple lists, skewing the demand & real wait times, but I didn't want to risk having to wait for an undetermined amount of time.
I have some jobs that are coming up that are perfect candidates to use the S2 on, and I didn't feel I could postpone the jobs for 6 weeks.
I went on eBay, found a seller with a good reputation who had 6 cameras in stock (eBay member "matchpoint88"). I bid on Thursday, and have the camera on Monday. ($2425 delivered). The camera is in perfect condition, brand new, North American model, etc.
Now I don't have to wait for a camera to do the shoots. This will make the jobs so much easier. No film! no scanning! No retouching film grain or scanner dirt! (say "income!")
