shot from the s5. this lens has come alive for me. its a above average cheap lens with a huge focal length. tmount mf lens

the shots are 650, 900 and 1200mm strong wind affected the 1200 shot.

It looks like it can be useful.

So 1200mm on the S5 is like 1800mm on a full frame camera.

I suppose your shooting aperture is about f/really dark.

strong wind affected the 1200 shot.[/IMG]

They look good, but you need a very heavy tripod to shot at 1/125 for a 1800mm shot!! :woot::woot:

the 1200 shot explained. this was a heave over cast day that the sun disappeared on me when shooting the 1200 and the wind was 15mph gusting to 35mph. the lens slides back for more magnification, thus the center of balance moves back as you zoom out. this makes the lens tail heavy and more "twitch" happy.

the loss of light and wind is why the pic is soft, as i reanalyze the pic the focus is probably off more that the lens movement, because the loss of light.

the focus ring moves a total of 45 degrees, thus its easy to miss absolute focus

my tripod can hold 22 pounds and the head can hold 40 pounds. the lens is 4 pounds and the camera is 2 pounds.

the lens is a f8-f16
