Just wondering if i am only able to fire my lights using the sync cord plugged into my safe sync on the hot shoe. I am using a Multiblitz profilux 200 light set. I would just like to get rid of some wires as i have my power adapter and firewire plugged in also. thanks in advance

Mr. J,
I find that the less cluttered the camera (working environment), the less cluttered my mind.
I used to use AC power for my studio shots, but now I use batteries all the time. [One Less Thing Around The Camera] The only time I ever use the AC adapter is when I clean the sensor.
When I used a sync cord, I prefered to have it hooked to the side PC Sync Terminal. My PC Sync Terminal stopped functioning about last December. (see threads http://www.s2pro.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=342 and/or http://www.s2pro.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=125 . I resorted to using a Nikon AS-16 [Hot Shoe to PC adapter] and plugging the sync cord atop the camera. - ughhh!
I have only tethered te camera to a laptop via FireWire a few times, and was not overly joyed by the cable between the two. I find it easy enough to use the camera's controls, and move the files to the computer by taking the CF card out of the camera, and putting it in the computer. [One Less Thing Around The Camera]
My Safe Sync gizmo plugged into my Strobe PowerPack (Speedotron 2400c). [One Less Thing Around The Camera]
Now I use FlashWizard radio slaves. A battery operated unit slides in the camera's hot shoe, and a similar unit plugs into the flash, - up to 150 feet away. No sync cords are anywhere near the camera. [One Less Thing Around The Camer]

I also remove the neck strap when the camera is going to be around the tripod for any length of time. [One Less Thing Around The Camera]

Thanks for the reply Tom. It all makes pretty good sense to me. Right now i have wires coming out from all over the place. It would be very nice and much less distracting not to have all of these wires. I will have to look into purchasing the radio slaves. Is it the Pocket wizard plus that you use? I checked the link and it looks like i have a few options. i just don't wasnt to get to carried away and buy more than i need.
