View Full Version : AAA Replacements?

So, I'm looking for 4 AAA rechargeables to replace some 600mah batteries for a couple of new cordless phones.
600mha just isn't much juice for Connie being on them all day long.
I haven't kept up with all this rechargeble stuff. Is there a AAA Litium Ion replacement out there yet? Or am I stuck with NiMeHy?
Thanks!

Used these before Jim?
Seems they're not that great on power at only 800mah. The stock ones I have are 600mah and I've seen rechargeable AAA's as high as 1350mah I believe it was.
No one else?

Yep, I was going to suggest eneloop as well. While I have not used the AAA's the AA's are great, hold a charge forever and last a long time.

Bryan,
I use the AAs and it is the only brand I will buy. Same experience with them as Ron.

I realize I'm resurecting an old thread but I wanted to contribute some later findings in regards to the CR123A batteries and use of the ad-on grip.
The grip although 4 1.2 volt batteries has some longevity but even wnen fresh they only contribute 4.8 volts, when the voltage drops the camera will quit working, even a relatively small percentage of the 4.8 volts.
I recently bought a CR123a Charger and 4 rechargeable batteries that are a full 3.0 volts each and seem to last even longer than the original lithium batteries and the "AA" go on and on now.
I bought the batteries and charger from Adorama (in stock) for $25.

Welcome to the forum Bill!
I assume you are writing about CR123a lithium batteries used in a Fuji S2. As far as I know, any add-on grip (modified MB-16 or equivalent) only uses AA size batteries. I had endless battery problems with my Fuji S2 - I hope you have better results.
As an aside, I see this is your first post after being a member for about a week - did you have any problems logging in or posting? There seems to be a lot of trouble for various people to post... ???

Yes, I could not post until as I was supposed to varify via email return but I never recieved the initial email until I requested it. Once I returned the email then no problem posting.
My post about the S2 was related to REPLACING the CR123A Lithium batteries with "rechargeables". Once installed they last a long time and then also extend the life of the "AA" rechargeables also. The ad on grip uses 4 "AA" batteries at only 4.8 volts and is not enough voltage compared to the original 2 lithium CR123A's at a full 6 volts so is not a cure all for replacing the CR123A's. IMO the rechargeable CR123A batteries (fairly new technology) is a good cure-all for the excessive cost of CR123A lithiums at $10. for 2 batteries when the charger and 2 rechargeable batteries costs $25.

Makes sense to me. Thanks for the info. It deserves it's own thread in the Batteries and Chargers section.
