Hola all,
Well, being fairly quiet (relatively speaking, since Global Domination is on hold :beat:, the French are still, well French :surrender, and my boss still doesn't know who his real father is :crazy:) all 'n' all, I've decided to start experimenting with strobe flash lighting.
Being something of a tight wad to-boot, I've been looking up on what's what and decided to go down the cheap and cheerful route and have acquired a couple of Vivitar 283's from Fleabay to see how I get along.
I've also noted that many people seem to go with the Wein Peanut (- or similar) approach to remote firing them.
Now, over here (UK) I can see that they are around £13-£15 + p&p, and in the US they are around the same figures but in $ (typical Rip Off Britain).
So my question is;

(a) Is there a DAMN cheap alternative here in the UK
(b) Anyone prepared to buy very cheaply in the US (or anywhere else for that matter) and post them on to me? (and to of course, be reimbursed).

Yeah, I know this is a kinda begging post, but I am loathe to give up my hard earned beer tokens to pay for someone else's holiday home or further subsidise this govt.

Ta muchly for any advice offered.

Andy

I just bought some optical triggers from Jessops - they were under £10 IIRC

OK, nabbed 3 off Fleabay for less than £20.
Probably got what I paid for, but sometimes you have to be an optimist:haha:
Will advise once received.

PS JPS, you posted up a while back with some 'ickle doo-dad epoxyed to the top of one of your 283's - what was it? Ta.
