Happy B-day to me. Around midnight, the start of my B-day, the whole neighborhood lost power. Came back online about 3:30am finally.

Don't know what happened, but I'm guessing it's the winds. 50mph winds where I'm at right now and we're in a protected area. 1/4 mile below me, a neighbor consistently reads 25-40mph higher winds than me and the power station is a little further than him with winds more in his range.

Oh well, server doesn't look any worse for the wear even though the batteries didn't hold the whole 3 1/2 hours, it appears to have come back up just fine.

Back to bringing other stuff back online, like the heaters and fridge circuits. See how I am, you guys come first... :P

More power outtages going on stilllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll....

Kinda sucks having 15 or so UPS units throughout the house. Otherwise I might be able to sleep if half of them didn't go BEEP BEEP BEEP every 30 seconds.

Fun fun. So, power restored again at about 9:10am.

Neighbor lost a horse and part of the roof of his house and barn. Another neighbor is losing part of their roof as I type.

6 power poles in back of my house fell and as I was shooting sunrise using my tripod as a brace more so than for steadying the camera, I watched another circuit blow about a mile down the hill from my house. Looks like that was just wires blowing into each other though, not a pole falling. Too bad though, saw the flash out of the corner of my eye, looked in that direction and it did it again, then I aimed the camera in the right spot and it didn't do it anymore. :(

Still have winds bouncing between 20 and 50mph so not sure if this is all over yet.

Nothing going on here except some outside furniture blowing around the yard and my lightning detector mount got twisted, but I can see it from my window and for now, I can correct it with a setting in the software. :)

Guess we're talkin' about the same celebration, divers try to catch the holy cross from the river/lake/sea!
Except from the freezing morning an earthquake of 6,5 on the Richter scale woke up the country :mad2:....me too:baldy: No damage fortunately.
The shock was felt even in Italy.
Sorry for the hijack Bryan but the thread turned to natural disasters report!!
