Ok well here's a link http://www.artbyphil.com/phfx/photography/2007_Canon1DsIIIReview/index.html
nothing much different then what you might expect however it's nice.
I didn't know or I was hoping as I still prefer the ergonomics of a Nikon over Canon however there is STILL NO MIRROR LOCK UP BUTTON!:baldy: I mean come on...going through the menu is a royal pain it's not hard to have it on a button we've got plenty of bodies (uh Nikons) to show them how!

Didn't know that you used the mirror lockup feature???
With both the 1D3 and 1Ds3, they have a totally new menu system and one section is customizable where you can put most used custom settings into a personalized section. Press the menu button and go to that section and exit. Next time you press the menu button, it will be right there.
Even with all the different things that I shoot, I go to the menu to do two things. Format a card and turn mirror lockup on or off. That's it. So on my 1D3, my personalized menu only has the mirror lockup function listed and is easily and quickly turned on or off from there.
You say you "still" prefer the ergonomics of a Nikon over Canon. Have you tried the 1D3 yet? Canon has changed these ergonomics around quite a bit. I was complaining about the ergonomics of the Canons over the Nikon's myself when I switched. I got used them and everything was almost fine. My only problem was that you had to hold 1 or 2 buttons in at the same time, spinning a wheel to change that setting which required two hands to change a setting in almost every circumstance. They moved the ISO button (and changed it to a single button) and you don't have to hold the button(s) in at the same time anymore. With those two simple changes, I don't even think about the hassles of changing settings on the Canon anymore.
On my 1D3, changing settings is so much faster and easier now in other words. Now all I have to do is get used to all the extra functionality on the back of the camera now that they added the 4 way pad. Can't wait to get my 1Ds3 so everything will be the same on my two cameras. :)
That review above is probably everything I would have said about the 1Ds3 if I had one to try.

:lol: I probably do a lot of things you don't think I know how to:haha:
I don't use it on a daily basis, however yes I do use it.
It's just preferences I like, buttons to change things over going to the 'menu'.
I don't like going to the menu for the d2x either however the only thing I used it for on the D2x basically was the crop mode and depending on what type of images I could set that for an entire day. Say for sports I'd change it but portraits landscapes whatever just leave it.

Hmmmm, don't even know why I'm reading this thread, but...I don't like going to the menu for the d2x either however the only thing I used it for on the D2x basically was the crop mode and depending on what type of images I could set that for an entire day. Say for sports I'd change it but portraits landscapes whatever just leave it.Gee I don't go into the menu to change the crop now that I have changed it to a "push and twirl". ie., to change the crop mode I press and hold the "function" (?) button and twirl the back thumb thingy. The "function" button is lower right hand front button as you're holding it. I use'em, but don't pay any attention to what they are called anymore. :woot:
