With all these leaves turning color, I thought it was time for a thread that shows the colors of the season. So, Gents and Ladies alike, start your batteries.

October 5th, 2003, 01:38 PM
Anthonie , did you take a bite of that mushroom?
;)

StormChaser
October 5th, 2003, 01:48 PM
I'm not to familiar with mushrooms. But I saw this one and it had water in it, it had a reflection of the tree above it and that one I wanted to shoot. When I was focusing my Irish Wolfhound came running by me and shaked the ground so much it made the water ripple, hense the shot. And NO, I didn't take a bite .

Here's the shot where the camera is trying autofocus on the leaves, funny enough though.

I'll feel like Sandman now... We get no color change here. Everything stays the same. Well, almost anyway. We go from Brown to green and then straight back to brown again. Nothing in between in Southern California. :/

My son and I hiked up a mountain into a stream following it to it's source, standing in the the coldest water I ever felt . We could not feel our feet for an hour. He climbed into the upper pool with
the Hasselblad I figured Wayne would kill me if the S2 were injured.

Bryan.
This ring any bells

''You gotta be able to find something around there. Look at mine... I'm in the cement city too... But we have small parks where we have some nice things. Doesn't have to be zebra's ya know... And I'm sure Ron is going to be posting something really nice here soon.... hahaha''

What goes around, comes around.

so do what i did ....................CHEAT

And the next day something did come around.

:D :D .

Animals are one thing Brian... The weather and changes in Nature is another. Like we don't get hurrcanes or tornados out here like our East coast and Mid-west states, we don't get fall here. :(

Fine Brian... I'm going to cheat and use an old photo. Probably one of the first 400 that I took with my S2. This has been seen here before. But I re-edited it now. Strange. It didn't seem this easy to edit it almost a year ago...

Green or dead. Like I said. Here's the dead.

October 8th, 2003, 02:22 PM
Bryan i like it , NO i really mean it i like it.
if that was taken during your ''fall'' then it's not cheating .As i said earlier, poetic licence, your interpreptation of the challenge.

Thanks Brian. Strange though. At home on my CRT this image didn't show very much grain, but here at work, my 18" lcd is showing a lot. Oh well. You liked it. I should have really blown it out, made it really grainy and went B&W with it. Maybe I'll do that at home later.

Driven nearly 150miles in and around London since this morning ,without getting one parking ticket or traffic violation ,so i'm feeling well disposed towards coppers today.:) :) .

I like this shot ,the reds are great ,and the light shining through the leaves makes this pic , nice.

taken at cobtree manor park inbetween Maidstone and Chatham in Kent on the
A229, last weekend , i posted 3 other pics.http://www.s2pro.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2104
Before anthonie issued the challenge so it was ''real handy''
The park was the old Maidstone zoo ,and was landscaped with hundreds of different kind of trees , a lot of conifers ,which makes it a great walk in the winter when it's frosty or snowing , plenty of greenery about. and it's great for dogs . funny it's been a park for 40 yrs ,but you can still smell the animal dung.

under flyover 1st left ,Forstall rd, entrance is opposite Travis Perkins builders merchants, there's a toilet and cafe . bring a dog .

While trying to get some decent images for Tree Nursery, with a dull dull dull sunset fading to a disappointing gray, my daughter asked for a picture of her in the trees. I used the BUILT-IN FLASH to make this image.

It's not often you submit a ''normal'' pic Tom , very welcome , nice image. Bet your daughters happy she's on her own again:)

Tom, are you into a new fase, I've seen another portrait you did, that was at least very not-you. Good shots, naturally, but it raises a question. Do you also have older daughters? Are you becoming a grandfather?:D

The king of special effects is turning natural. And I thought I saw it all.

By the way, thanks for the masking thread you did, it opened up a new world for me.

Tom V

Thanks for the nice comments Brian and Anthonie,

I can't even remember the last "normal" picture I have posted (maybe I never have). I have 2 daughters, 2 & 7 years old. My wife rarely makes it into postable photos because she is able to blink faster than ANYONE can shoot. Out of 1000 photos of her, maybe 2 will have her eyes open. I doubt I will ever post a photo of her, unless it is a tutorial on how to retouch eyelids into eyeballs. My 2 year old is very photogenic, but too energetic to sit still for anything nice. When my youngest is kicked out of the house in 2019, I will be 59 years old.

I put up a photo of the young one at http://www.s2pro.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2191

That's one of the neat things about desert areas. When we get rain we get flowers. We got a lot of rain in August and September so the flowers really came out. This spring should be really nice too. :)

Our trees have just started to turn colors. Still Pretty green here in Oklahoma.

I went down to the neighborhood park to take some pictures of the trees and leaves and every duck, goose, & swan in the county came to visit with me.

They were pretty indignant b/c I forgot to put in any bread for them.

This is what they say about ducks and bread:

Bread and birdseed do not contain the nutrients required to keep native birds healthy. They do contain additives that are not part of the diet of our indigenous birds.

The wrong types of food and a lack of required nutrients can cause birds to become sickly, less resistant to disease and less
able to escape predators such as cats and foxes.

Birds become dependant on handouts and will no longer
forage for their "natural" foods.
