...of my old friend Bob, with "minimal" lighting: the onboard flash of the D200, at -1 EV !
D200 with AFS 28-70 @ 62 mm. - 1:250 @ f/2.8 - ISO 100

...I guess this is the FIRST portrait i have ever shot in "digital" B&W !
Opinions, critics, advice ?
Cheers,

Great tonality and detail in the shot.

I agree with Charlie and Igor - great face for portraits, and it would be fun to play with different 'draganizer' effects.

A wonderfully lighted image from just the D200 pop-up considering the very dark surroundings. Nice work.

Hy guys... and Barbara !
Thanks for the comments ! I only heard of the "dragonizer" thing, but never had a go...
...care to show HOW you would re-process it ?
Cheers,

JPS,
Looks just like you took it with a very fine grain film like Panatomic X. Great shot and lighting.

Thanks Jim ! In fact, i shot in color, post-processed it in color and THEN thought/noticed that this is NOT the kind of image -IMHO- that "works" in color ! The best portraits i've ever seen were in B&W, except sometimes for children...
I'm not "at ease" shooting portraits, because 1) i haven't got the lighting stuff, with the softboxes, reflectors, etc..., and 2) i don't know how to "deal" with the people i want to photograph ! I don't know what to say to them, don't like to tell them what to do, etc...
...so i just "grab" a shot from time to time !
Pity, as i'm sure i would LOVE to MAKE -instead of TAKE- a nice pic of someone !
:)
