I was in the studio today and I thought, forget all these studio lights, why not just try and just take my images using natural light and a white vinyl backdrop. The girls are getting so used to being in front of the camera now, so they are always willing to be part of my photography experiments. I've taken to using my 50mm 1.4d a lot recently and i'm finding its becoming my lens of choice more and more. These shots had just a little PS work on them, I hope you like

Thanks guys. I've noticed a lot of views on these images but only a few comments, so wondered if maybe most thought it wasnt natural light portrait. I've basically rigged up the White Vinyl into the house conservatory, that area lets in so much light that, with a white backdrop it can really be to hot and to bright. I have white blinds in there so it softens a lot of the harsh light, shooting with the 50mm 1.4d I can achieve a nice amount of DOF whilst getting the high key white effect I want. You can't beat Natural light, but I must admit that using the flash lights gives nice highlights in the eyes, which I didnt get as much in these shots. Instead the white vinyl is reflected in the eyes. I think it's quite a nice reflection but i'm a fan of high key images and i'm not sure if this sort of stuff is to everyones taste

Hi, this was a simple experiment to see what could be achieved using no studio lights, the only lights I used for these shots would be just natural sunlight through an open conservatory with white blinds to soften the light. A massive softbox in other words:lol:

I did a little PS work on one of my images, mainly around the eyes to reduce the dark areas, I introduced some catchlight in the eyes, and gave it an overall cleaner vibrant touch, what do you think?
