I use the Ultra III's all the time and they work fine.

Only cards I've ever used. Very reliable.

All my sandisks have gone through hell and work fine. Everyone of them have gone through the laundry at least once and no problems.

i use a a lot of other cards. right now i am only buying transcend 12x cards from newegg.com. they work fine in both my cameras s2/3 and are pretty fast in the card reader.

Just bought a 4gb Transcend 120X from newegg for the princely sum of $42.99 and bought a 45X 4gb card for Linda's S3 for $31.99. Both work fine and are fast. Not really as fast as the Ridata 150X cards but thought I would try these bargains. I have no affiliation with newegg but I heartily recommend them for any purchase.

I still have 1 Kingston Pro (4GB) that performs well. But most of my older Lexars (1GB each) are dead by now, except one.

I switched to Sandisk a few years ago after the failure of the first Lexar and have 1GB, 2GB and 4GB cards from Sandisk now (Ultra II and Extreme III) and never had an issue with any of them.
