Last two times I used my S2, the battery level indicated that it was low and shut down the camera. The first time I replace with brand new alkaline and it did the same thing. Today I charged all my NIMH's and the battery level still indicated low battery after about 4 shots. I was using it tehtered to my computer. Any Ideas, I dread the thought of s$200 plus, do I buy a used S2 at that price?

Thanks

Welcome to the forum Ron. Have you tried replacing the cr123's? Using a different charge just in case the problem is with the charger?

Thanks Sleeping Bear, I've actually been a memeber for a while, just haven't been on lately.

I tried using brand new NIMH's and haven't been using CR123 for a year now, no need for them.

I saw where you had signed up in '05 but first post today. My welcome is on your first post!

Hmmm...are you sure your charger is working fine? I think Tom V had a similar problem?

There have been many people here who have had problems with rechargable batteries, including 2 and 3 complete sets going out at the same time and chargers not charging fully. If you suspect your camera, go out and get some brand new Duracell or Engergizer AA's and pop them in. I bet that clears up the camera issue.

I use the same batteries and charger for my SB's, they seem to be working well. I did put in a new set aof Duracells and the same thing happened. Going to take it in to Fuji today for servicing. Will post autopsy results!

Got the camera back from Fuji, they said nothing was wrong but asked if I wanted it cleaned for $125, I said thaks but I clean my own camera weekly. They were nice enough to waive the $25 estimation fee.

Everybody including Fuji is telling me to put the CR123's. I will and will run a test. But I have been running without CR123's for over 2 years without a battery problem.

I've never used 123s and everything's fine. I did buy the 123 "replacement pack/grip" that uses AA's, but it seemed if the primary batteries weren't needing to be replaced, it was the additional ones in the grip. It seemed as though I was changing batteries twice as often.

My S2 sometimes indicates low battery power after the first three or four shots with fully recharged 2500ah batteries.

Normally switching the camera off and removing and reinserting the battery tray clears the problem.
