1608 error

i keep getting "error 1608" when i try to install finepix viewer, and thereby also get error when i try to install raw converter update<seems to be looking for finepix viewer installation>
fuji says it is an install sheild issue and i have tried all the suggestions that their website has but none works.....


any ideas?

Hello all,

this is my first post here.

I have my S2 since 25 August, and I did get the same error, installing on my P4 Win XP computer. Then I tried to install on my old PC with Win Me, and it worked.
It sure seems a InstallShield issue.
I will have to try later to fix the problem.
I´m sory I coudn´t help you.

One fairly common source of 1608 errors is that you don't have administrator priviledges on the XP system, so you can't install the package. See if you are set up as an administrator user???

thanks for your advice.
As I could not solve the problem with the Install Shield help, I just formated my hard disk and made a new XP install, and it works ok now. The ultimate solution...
