I finally got a decent replacement for my Nikon 70-300 'kit' lens - the Nikon 80-200 2.8ED. The difference is staggering, as these 2 pictures show. The first was taken with the old 70-300 and the second taken with the new 80-200. Same colour car, same settings, same camera (D70). Both pictures are 100% crops. Just proves the importance of good glass :)
