My favorite...

Just have to post my favorite lens...nikkor 24-200! Such a great range. When people are moving toward you, you can go wide and still get good shots. My 70-300 just seems to limit me more. It was about $600 when I bought it for my F100 a couple of years ago, I think its down around $400 now.

Your favorite certainly covers a lot...

My favorites come & go every few months (must be a guy thing).
Of my eight lenses & no intentions to buy another, most were bought & are used for specific situations: kids soccer, indoor events, landscapes, macros, etc.
However, the one that I keep mounted more than any other is the 35-70d f2.8. Limited zoom, heavy, bulky, but I consistenly get the shots I expect...

Guess my dad caused my need for a "cover it all" lens...when i was younger and used his old camera, he always told me to switch lens as few times as possible....the more you change, the more dirt can get in!

I know I'm careful, but I cant stand to switch back and forth...it feels as if I'm hurting the camera! I just need to buy enough cameras for every lens!

The need to buy more lens....well...thats still there!

My favourites come and go too, however, the Nikkor 80-200mm f/2.8D (2 ring) was always my favourite lens. I am a "compressionist" so I love some of the cool effects I could get with it. And the ED glass seemed to make my images "pop"

Then last week, I took delivery of my Nikkor 12-24mm f/4 DX AF-S lens... holy smokes! I didn't realise how much I missed the ultra-wide view (so much for being a compressionist, I guess). This lens is wicked... put it on your S2, you'll almost never want to take it off.

I would love to hear about other peoples favourites...

I'm a bigamist. I love my 70-200 f2.8 Sigma EX and my 180mm Sigma macro!

I think most of us are similar in that we all have our mistress'/paramours...
But I do feel a bit guilty in that there are some that are so good, but so rarely get used, such as my sigma 105 macro. Does a great job, but usually ends up sitting in the cabinet.

My favs are two VR's : 24-120 and 80-400. Simply because my handholding isn't very steady and I hate tripods :) Besides both are just great lenses!
