Is there a place like B&H or KEH camera, but that deals on trade in and used computers? I am looking to get a Powerbook G4 with DVD burning and would not be able to afford the newer models, and even if I could, I don't want the Pentium mac. they don't run CS2 as well as the classic Mac G4.
I have found some on E-bay and The mac store refurbished, but wouldlike to find more alternative vendors. perhaps just under $1,200. My budget is dry since the purchase of the D200 with the MB200 and earlier, the 70-200VR. No regrets, I love these items. Just a little tight on the pocket right now.

You might want to try Craig's List (http://www.craigslist.org)
I've bought a couple of things off of people there.

The one thing about the Macs is that they hold their value really well compared to PCs so it might seem to be a bit expensive, even compared to what you can pickup new.

Although I did see Costco had G4 Mac Mini's, with wireless keyboard and mouse (that's $100 right there) with 3 year Applecare (that's another $200) for $600 when I was there at the weekend..... I came >this< close to buying one ...

You could also check out the refurbs on the apple site.

I found many power books in E-bay and acouple at the mac stoire for a fair price.
I may have to settle for a new Powerbook after all...darn. My wife would just love another expense.

I know that CS2 doesn't run as fast on the Intel chip yet but when Adobe bring out their next version of it it will be a universal application which will make it scream through the files. Depending on what you need the laptop for, I would either wait until Adobe bring out their next version of CS at the end of the year and then get an intel macbook pro or get one now and suffer the reduced speed of CS (although it is still pretty good) or buy a secondhand power PC version.
I have the intel imac 20" and am more than happy with its performance although my last mac was a 733mhz G4 so anything seems fast compared to that.

Good advice on the CS3 and intel macs. I considered that and it makes sense. I do have super fast desk top G4 at home.
