I played with the demo version briefly, but the results I got was similar to those obtained through Adobe's raw file format, which almost always gave strange colour temperature conversions and loss of saturation. Anyone else have any comments on this package?

I took one look at the price of this application and disregarded it from the outset. I've used the Ai version as a driver for my film scanner and while it works very well, the company has horrible tech support.
In my opinion they're all about the money. I paid $200 for version 5.x of their application which at the time did not have the option of calibration, though they sold me the application at the cost that would include it. Less the 90 days later they released the new version and it DID include calibration. They then wanted ANOTHER $150 for the upgarde.
When I saw that they had a RAW file converter as was hoping for something better than Fuji's application, but the "special introductory" pricing on the product is $299, and then to add insult to injury, they want to charge $250 as an upgrade cost for the DC version, but as a byproduct, I was told it would no longer work for my scanner, just the camera!!!!!

corwin_ranger: I did try silverfast for my LS4000 before and contrary to most reviews, I actually preferred Nikonscan to it as a standalone application, in spite of the latter's unstable nature under photoshop. And the price did seem quite expensive when one has the alternative of the FREE Nikonscan or Vuescan, also quite good considering its price.
Anthonie: Thanks, that looks quite interesting, but unfortunately I am stuck with windows and am unlikely to switch systems soon. I have been looking for alternative solutions as I find RAW Converter EX's interface somewhat poorly designed (epscially considering one has to pay a considerable amount for it)
