 Ok it's in a process of change however here you can sort of see various things that thanks to many of you which have been input :D

Grey walls, grey carpet, white backdrop, and yet floor to ceiling area of black drapes (which I sewed myself thank you very much  ) More of the black drape is ready just not up yet I will eventually have the entire 3 sides with black drape so I can just pull it around and yet back when I don't want it. I love choices, so I can use the grey wall, the white backdrop or black. I just might want to try a new backdrop I got too but I saw where with these handy dandy hooks I can mount it right on the wall and just pull it down when I want it. (haven't told Howard yet to bring back the ladder and drill the holes yet :haha: well I could do it but it makes him feel so useful ;) )

Now let me say what I like and dislike about this lighting stuff.........

You can control everything............what I dislike.......you control everything so when I mess up it's MY fault!

I think I have what I want and then I experiment yet again. I rather like that portion of it. First it was barndoors on the backdrop, then added umbrellas and foamcore (yep that is on the opposite wall to the drapes you just can't see it in this picture), sooooooo yesterday I tried a different umbrella and you know I love how it was fairly even lighting and yet controlled the spill to the subject. You know what that means I've got to go get another umbrella like that one! :) I just played yesterday to see with the two that didn't match.

I love love love those c-stand gizmos I raise and twist just about any direction I want to be, and OH boy do I have sandbags now not a darn thing is gonna fall on ME again. YEP any cords near the front have already been gaffers taped down I don't feel like tripping either :p

This is taking up about 1/3 of my space in the new place I do like the area around so I can get to everything, the drapes block the lighting from the front display area.....the dressing room is right next to it and yet I still have
an office area with a seperate entrance.

Overall I am having a TON OF FUN! Well I can now anyway since it's moved and I can PLAY AWAY again! First shopping then back to my dungeon :D

My notes?! OH a best seller here's how to do it wrong and do it over and over till you get it right  no fair skipping chapters! :haha:

It is fun though, I just got back from the piano where I made a 24 x 36 inch mat with my name/logo on it for one of the entrances, now I've got to make one more I just wanted to test the color first. My favorite royal tahoe looking BLUE! :D

Can I come over and play too? :D

No, seriously, you are doing very well, you sure don't muck around when you put your mind to something :righton:

Melody

Thank you dear :) I would love for you to come over and play you are most welcome anytime you like!

I'm not finished yet, it's still got quite away to go however I have a plan in mind anyway.

I love that it was originally two suites and I can turn off all the lights in the back section (well it turns them off in the office area too) however the front store/display area can be on and the floor to ceiling windows open and inviting.

Me muck around if I want something? Not typically, it might take me longer then others to get there however I'm determined if nothing else, I'll keep trying until I get it. Unfortunately for you guys you have to listen and watch the progress! However I am extremely grateful for all the help and knowledge that is shared with me.

It WOULD BE far too cool!
Just thinking about it, is making me drool :cry2:

All my holidays are now tied around school holidays, and there is an Easter break in April, it means going a long way, but it would be worth it. I have family and other commitments around that time, otherwise I wouldn't hesitate for a minute. But things can, ... and do change

Melody,

It is my formal obligation to notify you that you are in breach of the UK Association Of Jealous Blokes Mermbership Article 143, Section 34a, Sub Section 3w, Paragraph 19 which clearly states the following:

"All newly purchased photographic technology, whether studio equipment or any equipment designed to be used in a studio for the purposes of taking portrait images MUST be tested upon succesfull installation at the premises by a suitably qualified Jealous Bloke. The purpose of this test is to ensure that all afore mentioned technology has been tested to the acceptable standard required to make the afore mentioned technolgy chocolate proof. This test MUST be carried out within the acceptable time frame as detailed in the Articles of Membership Acceptance and must be conducted by one of our testing examiners."

In addition to the above, as your name begines with the letter "M" only a suitably qualified Jealous Bloke also with a name beginning with "M" may conduct the inspection and testing of the equipment. At this point in this formal notification, I deem it of Vital Importance and in the Interests of The International Federation Of Jealous Blokes, bring to your attention, that surprise, surprise, my name begines with "M"

Heading out the door to the airport now, if my Good Lady doesn't spot me packing my bags :)

Love that set up Melody. May it bring you many years of stunning images and head scratching moments ....... and YES, I'm a Jealous Bloke

OH I do have another project for Howard.....can you believe he left me in the studio today muttering something about this damn place is gonna kill me....THIS time I hadn't even asked him to get on the ladder (well I was gonna ....but I stopped ;)

OH I did get my new umbrellas today....and I've raised the backdrop up so high now that even with a chair I can't reach it for more paper so I have to lower one side pull the paper then raise it back up....BUT it works!

You are absolutely hilarious   I just about died laughing when I read this....I'm gonna frame it and put it on my wall over there!

Thank you it's definitely giving me head scratching moments anyway! It will look different by Sunday more black drape going up and another backdrop with rail will be attached to the wall (uh that's the plan anyway I just need someone tall to drill the holes ...I don't like being high on a ladder)
