:) Its awesome!
I own a Nikon F100 & N80, so I think this transition to digital is going to be SO much FUN! My hubby and Dad have played with it all day and are amazed by the quality of pictures on the PC. Its better than any print I have ever scanned in. If anyone is reading this to decide between this or the Nikon....I KNOW I made the right choice!;)
Have a Blessed Week!

Andi, and wait till you find yourself just shooting away at photo opportunities where you may not have wanted to waste the film in the past. You'll be hitting 1000 images in no time at all.

I think I've done 300+ already!
I'm taking pictures that I would have NEVER wasted film on. What is kicking me is the PC part of it all. Do you have any suggestions on sites for those who havent used the PC for a photo darkroom before? Also...why do the pictures look great on one computer and dark on another?? I posted a picture on the Photo board and it looks poor compared to the real thing... I guess I went too low on the file size?
Sorry for all the questions...Thanks...

You can try reading this: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/digitalphotography/learnmore/fixit/editing.asp for begining type stuff. Not paying attention to the microsoft software since you'll want to use Photoshop.
What is your "level" of editing pictures? Never really done it, amateur, novice?
Your pictures can look darker or brighter on different monitors because of bad calibration of those monitors or simply someone else's preference to the brightness levels. Bad calibration can be just from a cheap monitor as well. I know my monitor is something that will last me too many years, and consider it to be like reading glasses, so I don't skimp on them. Fortunatly, it would appear that my monitors are calibrated close enough to everyone else that when I edit a picture, it looks about the same everywhere I go (being a mainly a computer guy, I hang out with computer people (or people that don't have computers), so they have good monitors as well. Just a thought though.
You'll want to check out Thom Hogan's site... I look at a few articles that people have posted here, so look around there, there's some good explainations there. Try this one for instance on filters: http://bythom.com/filters.htm .
You'll want to look up information here on USM (UnSharp Mask) if you don't already know about that - it''s all over the place here, and a good GENERAL instruction here http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/digitalphotography/learnmore/fixit/sharpening.asp .
You'll probably want to see if you can get the Thom Hogan eBook from Fuji. I have it, and it's nice. It's free for S2 owners. http://s2ebookoffer.com I think is it.
Ask many questions here. They'll be answered. :)

Hi Swampy ..... I too love the onfo I have taken the time to read through and attempt to digest. I am also a new S2 owner but from the UK. I am disappointed to read all about the Tom Hogan eBook, and when I rushed towards the link to register my S2 ... I cant ... because I am in the UK.
Is there any way for us UK owners and users to become registered and get a copy of this eBook ???
Thanks in advance. I love the work you all do in here.

Unfortunatly, the free offer is only for US models. Kinda sucks that we get that, along with all the software and AC Adapter where other places don't. If you have a US model by chance, you should still be able to get the book, however, you're going to have to find somewhere else to ship it in the US and have it relayed to you. :D
The only way for you to get it is to go to Thom's site and buy it direct.
