Hello.

What is your opinion.

Is it better to:

a, Save a smaller version of your original at say 700pxl's width do color correction & USM to have for a webpage.

or

b, Do color correction and USM to your original and generate the smaller pic with the automated photogallery function i PS?

Timo -

the rule of thumb is to do all your color and retouching work at the largest resolution.

Resize a version by hand down to the pixel dimension at 72dpi

Once you have resized the image, apply the USM. USM is directly related to the amount of pixel information. Applying USM and then resizing can add artifacting.

Save for web by hand - if you use an auto function you give up control over the compression of the JPEG.

I ran tests and found the results to be what I expected.
Shortcuts aren't always the way to go...
