I've found a link at several German websites about a tool to recover some edge-pixels from your sensor which are excluded by firmware.
As the link expresses the function better than I can, here is the link :
http://www.luminous-landscape.com/contents/DNG-Recover-Edges.shtml
The workflow is simple an easy:
- Load your NEF or RAF-file into PSCS, adjust it and save it as a DNG-file.
- Drag your file over the "DNG Recover Edges" thumbnail and reopen that file.
No, there are no additional pixels, means for a S3-file the dimensions are still the same,
but, there are some millimeters of more content.
Let's say, the crop-factor wents from 1.5 to 1.49
Hope you will find that in some case usefull !
Attached find a sample picture.
