For general candid shots inddors. Low ceilings etc! I normally set it to TTL or TTL-BL.. I shoot with a Fuji S3!

I love this flash on the S3. We use Metz 54-4s on our S2s and they work well but the 800 on the 3 is much better. We use flash all day long at weddings and receptions. We also use the TTL-BL mode on the flash. We set the camera at manual, f6:7 and a shutter speed of 1/60th. The ISO is at 400 for all reception and chuch work. For low white ceilings we bounce a lot. We play with the f stop sometimes if were to close or farther away. Even though the 800 is pretty good at TTL we still find we have to make small adjustments all the time for the best images.

Steve , I shot tilted 60 degrees with white reflector card "ejected". Great even lighting.

Thanks guys,

Rockyw, So you shoot in manual with f6.7. I will give it a go. I normally leave it in P mode or "panic as I call it! I have a Lightsphere ll which works well but can be a little bulky at times even if it does look plain silly.

Igor, Bouncing off a ceiling is effective isn't it. I ve not yet tried the reflecter card. Will see how it looks.
