Will these two flashes work in TTL and full functionality or will they perform with limitations like the Nikon D70. As you all may know, the D70 does not like the SB80 or 28 as well as the 800.

I'm confused by your comment that the D70 and the SB-800 don't work well together...What kind of limitations are you referring to?
As far as I know, there is no reason why the D2X and the SB-800 should not work well together in the iTTL mode.

Hello Lockett!
I am sorry I was not clear. I dont speak as well as I take pictures.
The D70 does not like the SB80 or 28 as well as it likes the SB800, meaning that the D70 likes the SB800 in all modes. The D70 works with the SB80 and SB28 (both DX) but only on apperture or shutter priority and not in TTL.
I was wondeting will the D2X performs in the same manner with the the SB80DX and SB80DX.
I should be ordering my D2X next week and I need to know if I need another SB800 or cab i use an older flash.
Best Regards!

Hey Gil,
I think I understand now what you're asking. The D70, D2h/s, and D2X all operate in Nikon's proprietary iTTL and not TTL. So, any flash sold before the SB-600 or SB-800 will only work with the D70, D2h, and D2X in the auto mode. That means that you must set the camera controls to aperture, shutter, or manual mode and the flash to auto to use these earlier flashes.
One other point of interest is that your flash sync is limited to the model camera you are using. The flash is even more limited by the model flash being used. The SB-800 has a high-speed sync mode which enables it to be used at higher shutter speeds, but the flash to subject distance is severely reduced.
Am I making sense or have I confused you?
