Hi swampy
I see you've got the ''celtic'' spelling to your name, it means strong in old anglo saxon. weather? well you can call us crazy europeans but i tell you , for the last month the temps been up in the 90-100's , all over europe. you do get used to it, so much so that now it's leveling out at about 75 , it feels a bit chilly in the mornings.
I do think this chat forum will work great, last night i'd never seen so many members on at the same time. but i'm normally asleep when you guys get up.
It's 6.00 am here now ,and i've got to drive about 400 miles today, but i have got an air conditioned truck , so i'm O.K.
Happy shooting

The weather here in S. Central Pa. has been a pain for two years now for me. (Capt)JR has a boat and last year we had a drought, so the river was to shallow for my boat. This year we’ve had so much rain that the river is always so high and muddy that it has logs and such floating with the swift current and the fishing stinks. The season isn’t over yet, or maybe next year.

We're getting a new lake opened up to us in about a month near by. Supposed to be real nice. There's been fish in there for 10 years, yet, no fishing has been allowed. Should be some nice ones in there right now. It's also supposed to be the biggest freshwater lake in southern California. Can't wait to go fish it. Too bad I don't have a boat though. haha.
My brothers in-laws are from PA Capt. Right around Allentown. I'm planning on making out to my brothers sometime, but he lives out in Newport News, VA.

Very nice looking lake. Good panarama also. Can't see the seems at all. That lake would suit my boat just fine! Untouched fishing, geezzzzz, is that what heaven is going to be like?
Probably not, you see in my vision there were two brunettes in bikinis on my boat.:)

The enclosed picture shows how my son Tom is handling the weather. I think it's a good example we could all follow. It's around 30degrees C (86F) now and is supposed to go up from there. Not as hot as in AZ or CA but as they say, "that's a dry heat" and of course, "it's not the heat, it's the humidity". Cool drink anyone?

After nearly two months of fine and hot (sometimes too hot) weather, on the first and only public holiday of the summer in England, todays overcast, nippy about 65 degrees, and there's light rain down the east coast, Took this picture 1 hr ago ,while walking the dog in my local park, taken with my 6800, and not retouched in any way,

That's the way it works. The Weather knows. In June in Southern California, we have what we call "June Gloom" where it is overcast for a better part of the day, but still warm/hot. It seems to be more so on the weekends (cloudier/longer) and on the weekdays, the sun usually comes out around 8:30ish. Great way to ruin a weekend.
A co-worker from the U.K. was here visiting, seeing her boss, meeting some of us, and seeing how we did things... When she came out, it was drizzling the whole week, no sun at all. hahaha. We blamed the weather on her, bringing it with her and all.

thats about right, bryan, it's just gone 3 in the afternoon here and the weathers just brightning, might go out this evening and take some shots of the local lake, i'm on my own for a couple of weeks while the wife 's visiting her mother in blackpool, got too much work on to go with her . well thats my excuse.
Glad to hear you easily fixed that upside down shot, i was thinking it might have been that 95 lbs of weight that flipped the whole shooting match on it's back, LOL.
Just been trying out the camera shooting software, i'm very impressed ,might even get some shots of the dog without him knowing.
Happy shooting

Judgeing by the pictures on my t.v. screen this morning you got your wish for bad weather, specatular lightning storms over San Jose'. Get any shots?.

I dunno. Lemme hop on my boss's plane and fly for 45 minutes and check it out. :(
Told ya. I miss it all. Got a 6 hour drive to the north, south or east and there's a thunder storm going. But here, all I get is some lousy puffy brown (from the smog) clouds 2 hours away over the mountains. Rain? What's THAT anyway? You know we went some 400+ days without measurable rain not to long ago?
Sorry Brian - San Jose is a ways away from me to see anything. I've just come back, in fact, from looking at Mars again with some buddies. I've come the the conclusion tonight that there is something wrong with my tripod, and 2 guys that know astronomy and stuff that went with me tonight have decided that they really don't know how to calibrate a Polar Finder and my tracking was still off.
If they have it in stock, I'm going to pop another 1200US and get the GPS Tripod. Just pop it up, wait 5 minutes and you're good to go. Hopefully that will do better. I'm not upgrading because this one "isn't working", just that even if it was working, it still takes 30 minutes after putting it all together to find Polaris, line it all up right and start the tracking motors. Yuk. I'm all about Speed, just like Smunky. :P

i think we all forget the vast distances in the U.S.A. ,when i saw it was in southern california, i thought it would be right in your backyard. when you think britain is 600 miles long (rough guess) it would fit into texas with lots to spare. sorry to hear you missed it again , never mind one's gona come your way soon , and you'll be regretting asking for it

Brian - I'll never regret it... :) We used to have these commercials for a tv station advertising car racing that they're now showing...
The start of one was showing people getting in an elevator, showing that they were up like 50 floors and going down. The cable breaks after the door closes and EVERYONE is screaming and yelling, except one guy. They'd freeze the screeming scene focused on him just sitting there smiling and enjoying the "ride" then flash the word "Enthusiast" up on the screen. I think they froze the screen on the screaming people too, but I forget that part, cause I'm the enthusuast. Hey, an elevator cable breaks while I'm in it, I'm going to enjoy the ride. What else are you going to do?
There's another one... Tornado is coming, they show the winds whipping around this one street, everyone in chaos screaming. Then they show one guy, setting up a lounge chair in the middle of the street and sitting down. That would definitely be me - only with my S2 in hand. Hahaha.

Yes i guess if it's in your makeup you've got to roll with the flow,me? well i'm a bit older and a bit wiser, been through all the hellraising in my youth, did things that i,m not proud of ,but learned from them, boy did i learn.
Now i'd proberly be like you, but with a bit of caution. The car drive you had, well i once jumped from a moving sports car onto the pillion of a motorbike at over 100mph ,for a bet.i once drove a 30 ton truck backwards down a quarry road at over 50mph for a bet. and the smokey and the bandit type river jump over a broken bridge. did that ended up with a broken neck and numerous other bits hanging off, so much for ''the best years of your life.'' As i said i'm older and a lot wiser, but i'd still love to go back and try that jump again, so i guess we're not that different
Happy shooting

Kinda Graphic, so I guess I should say WARNING - YUCKY STUFF. DON'T CLICK UNLESS YOU HAVE A STRONG STOMACH. :)
It's not that bad. Metal sticking into skin.
I'll post the link to save some people from seeing it.
