Dumb Question D2X crop mode

Will Crop Mode give the same resolution as a full size image taken in normal mode and then cropped in PS to the same dimensions as the image that was taken n crop mode?

About to try some test shots to see but was wondering if anyone has done this?

No, the D2x in High Speed Crop mode will only give you 6 point something megapixel images. They had to cut the data down to get the speed out of the camera.

So to go high speed, you cut your resolution in half and you also go to 2x crop factor. Not that it should matter for the high speed mode anyway as you're probably trying to get "closer" anyway.

exactly. Think of it this way- you get the middle 6.9MP of the image only.

So it's not the same as taking a full 12.4MP image and resizing it, it's like taking a 12.4MP image and cutting 6.9MP out of the center of it.

VERY handy for people like me that shoot birds & such.
