My laptop is 1600 res. The D2X images look pretty good and better than the S3 images. But when you print them, the difference is much better than the S3.

How so?

Are you shooting in color mode 3? It's pretty saturated... I have a hard time saying the d2x images are just better.

I mean, they're both excellent... :)

AZ,

I am shooting in color mode I and III, depending on the subject. The prints are unbelieveable. On-screen the difference is less.

Both are way better than the D70.

Interseting post. I have a buddy with a D2X and agree they look better in print but then so does the S3. One thing I would note is this. If you compare both D2X and S3 at 9x6 or below it's pretty difficult to tell them apart! I use Pixel Genius to sharpen my S3 files and this process alone is a revelation believe me!!

You are most likely right. It is the new camera syndrome on me.

My S3 prints are looking pretty good today.
