I've made a set of actions with no problems, and the last two steps is to save and close the file. When I run the action either as a batch or on a single picture, it always prompts me for the quality of jpg to save in, which, I set the first time, and after that, I just have to keep hitting enter at the end of each picture. How do I set it so I don't have to keep hitting enter on the quality?

I'd like to see a setting in preferences that said 'allways use ____ quality setting for jpeg saves'. I don't think it is there. It would save me a lot of time. Because it isn't there, I never use 'save', I always use 'save as'.

And if you use "save as", it doesn't prompt you every time for the compression? How about file names? How does that come up in the batch?
I mean, no, I don't overwrite my originals, ever, I make a copy and work those over, so I can just "save".

Sounds like you may have figured out the answer already, but just want to make sure. Yes, choosing "Save As" instead of just "Save" will solve your problem with jpg option box. The file name stays the same as if you were doing a "Save", whatever it's original file name was.
