Taken a couple of weeks ago at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens in Washington, DC with the Nikkor 80-400mm VR. This image is about 1/3 of the original image.

Hi Bob,
Really like your picture.
I have a question about your 80-400mm VR. For Tele I use a 70-300/4.0-5.6 ED and find that the AF is slow and does al lot of "hunting" for focus (so I end up using MF 70% of the time) and that most of my shots have to be exposed too long to be shot from hand. (For some reason my hands are always shaking a little bit, which does not help).
So I was hoping that the 80-400 VR would be a good choice for me (or maybe the upcomming 200-400 AF-s VR?).
How are your experiences with the VR? Is it fast enough for speed and for focus? Is it hunting a-lot?
I'm also currious about size and weight compared with the 70-300. Any info is welcome

mmathius, I was going to look into the 200 - 400 as well, but my dealer says he expects it to be in the CDN$6000 range. I love my 70-200 VR though.
