but my S2 seems to die again.

After receiving a FOC change of my sensor in March this year ( black death ) my sensor starts again with vertical banding.
Nothing real dramatic for a standard shot in bright conditions, but for me as a low-light-shooter ( mines, caves, shelters, bunkers ) its a mess.

Seems I have to say goodbye to my baby and sell it on Ebay

1st photo: The complete scene, also available at photos-color
2nd photo: a 100% crop unedited
3rd photo: an edited version for all Laptop-users in bright light :D

PS: If you like this camera, there are one 53.000 frames taken by now

Me too! (you didn't hear that here, fuji)

Wilm, what raw converter do you use? I notice it with ACR but not with the fuji converter. I never shoot jpgs so I can't say good or bad there.

Mike,
I have converted the RAWs wth PSCS2. Will try with some other shots the same with HU.
It seems to me, that the Fuji S2 CCD has 3 stages of life:

1st: It works
2nd: It starts banding
3rd: Black death ....

I agree with that.
take a photo at 1600 iso.
if you see only a thin band (diferent color) be afraid.
my s2 CCD die after I saw it.
