Found two adults and two youngin's hanging out at the river right by their new nest. Shot them for about 90 minutes before we moved on last night.

Here's a close up of one of them. This is a full frame, 1Ds, 400mm f2.8 with 2x TC. Flew from across the river straight at me once and came within 20 yards of me! Can't beat that for action. This one kinda hovered for about 10 seconds about 40 yards from me too.

I love it when whining works  Very nice!

So is this a male or female??

Now where are my wolves please???!

Remember that old commercial of the Indian with a tear going down his cheek? Well my tear is gonna be just as sad looking without a wolf picture.

Thanks everyone! Here's one more from that sitting.

Here's one of this guys (gals?) offspring. He was standing on this dead tree and every once in a while, a gust of wind would come up and he'd open his wings and practice flying by just hovering above the tree top. It was an exciting thing to see him hover a few inches above for 20-30 seconds at a time.
