To be or NOT to be in focus

Hi everyone - long time no see :o

I'm ba-aaaa-ack and I brought along a major problem (just for you to pour over and find a solution to it):

My S2 autofocusses with different lenses all over the place - sometime front, sometimes back. Now I lost all confidence in my equipment; I don't know where the fault lies, if it's the camera or the lenses.

I tried to adjust autofocus for one lens, but this made it only worse for others.

Any clues?

The samples are fullsized crops (12Mp mode) from a 12-24Sigma, a 28-70Tokina, a 70-200Tokina, and a 100-300Tokina. And every pic was focussed in the middle of the "Commercial to rent" title.

Update:

ran a test with the suspicious Tokina on a friends D70 today. And the lens backfocusses big time on his camera as well. Time to go lens shopping :rolleyes:
