I just ordered and due in on Friday!
Can't wait. After reading a boat load of post here and asking questions of my good friend "Swampy101." I was able to finally make my mind up and ordered the following:
Finepix S2 Pro (USA- 1 yr. warranty) 1749.00
Metz Flash 359.00
70-200 VR 1599.00
Sigma AF 24-70 329.00
60 Micro 345.00
MB-16 Battery Pack Grip 68.00
MB-16 Battery Holder 13.00
512 Memroy card 150.00
3 year extend warranty 100.00
Purchased the following from: http://tristatecamera.com/lookat.php3?sid=poaqsb4q&sku=FUJFPS2&cs=find.php3&action=search&target=products&keywords=S2&search_method=all
I checked ALL around locally and on the net and concluded that overall this was my best bet to getting everything I wanted.
I'll keep you guys posted once I receive all the gear.
It feels like Christmas. :D

Well, this is the Happy User Reports Sub. You haven't fired a shot with your camera and you're happy with it already?! Wow.
THAT's a Camera!
All I can say is that you're nuts and I'll be at my dad's house this weekend, so give me a call and bring it by and I'll show you the basics of it all.

Just an important update regarding this internet company I purchsaed the above items from. Since I last posted, they have contacted me to let me know the following:
1. The Metz flash will ship out in a week. No Biggie.
2. The second call was to let me know that the remainding items are being shipped and will recieve them on Friday as requested.
For those of you who understand how important it is for an internet company to provide that much information regarding an order just placed with-in the past 30 minutes and would call to confirm shipment, well . . . that says allot. I thought it would good news to pass along that someone does what he says he's going to do. (Priceless) :D
Stay tuned for the next report regarding delivery.
Cya!

Update as promised.
First of all, I called this morning (7:00am) to get my tracking number. They were not able to process my order yesterday. He quickly went over the order and found that the person who in-putted the order miss entered the amount for the S2 and that had caused the order to stop the process. He said he was sorry for the mistake and will have everything shipped out over night, via FedEx, so I can still receive it Friday morning as promised.
All in all I guess everyone's human. But best of all . . . I still get the gear on Friday like originally planned.
Anyway . . . now you guys are up to date. Hopefully this time tomorrow I'll be posting about having received it.
Confidence is high! ;)

Since he's off his, uh, foot, right now, I'll answer for him. He had a minor issue today where he'll probably be kinda scarce for a few days. But. Everything came in today as expected.
He got every piece he ordered, except the backordered Metz flash, which he should get in a week.
The camera was the one expected with the all the cables, software, power supply, US Warranty, and of course the body. In fact, everything ordered and received today was as expected, advertised and quoted.
I'd say that these guys are the ones to order from, except B&H, but they're higher in price. B&H I will always buy from and not worry. Even though they lied to me about not being able to ship out my Metz flash on Tuesday, but it would go Wednesday and come in Thursday, I will still go there since they DID ship it on TUESDAY, and I got it Wednesday. I guess my only gripe with B&H is that they could have called and told me. :)

In my experience, B&H is VERY reliable and honest with buyers. Over the years I have purchased more than US $50,000 of equipment from them with no problems. They have become so large that personal communication is not quite as good as it used to be, but their tracking and e-mail system works well, and their depth of stock is unmatched.

First all, sorry for the slow reply back. I had foot surgery on Friday afternoon and had to be off my foot for awhile. Anyway . . .
Yes! Everything received as ordered. Software, cables ALL items brand new and never opened. The lenses are perfect. I would go back there and buy from them again and again. I'm very picky about my electronics and these guys delivered as advertised. I looked into B&H too, but I'm not into to paying more for the EXACT items. I estimated I saved close to $1000 dollars going with:http://www.tristatecamera.com/
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND buying from these guys. I placed my order via phone and followed up the following day for the tracking number. I hope this helps someone out there in making their purchases. Good Luck.
I'm finally off to take some pics. From my chair that is. Got about
a week before I can put my shoe back on and get back to walking again. Good Luck!

Dear RacerX
Thank for your information about the shop.
I hope that you still could enjoy your "S2 honey moon". I think that is better for you to work with a tele lens so you don't have to walk much.
Last year, when I couldn't easily "walk out" the Fairfax Hospital, I had to buy a cheap monopod to use instead of a walking stick that is more expensive, And that why I have to buy my first digital camera,
Sincerely yours.

Thanks for the concerns sandman and Lính Le. I have been shotting some pics around in the back yard. Can't take sitting on my rear any more. I'll go ahead and post one under the Photo sub. OBTW, my handle came from when I use to race at some of the local racing tracks out here in SoCal. Hence . . . RacerX. But I do feel more like a snail these days. :D

Dear RacerX,
I order a S2 from Tristate.com last friday. I checked the order status on sunday: No tracking information available. So, I call them and somebody said that they should process the order on monday.
On monday, my order status till: No tracking information available.
I try to call and very difficult to talk with them, they just simply didn't answer the phone or just simply cut the phone. At last, somebody told me that they should sent the camera on monday or today....
Did you have any trouble to contact with them, their e-mail customer service didn't response at all.

Scooper - You're right - Kinda. Although they don't make a battery attachment for the S2, the MB-16 can be slightly modified to replace the CR123's with another 4 AA's. Do a search for MB-16 and you'll find a thread showing pictures and stuff.
LinhLe - Rick didn't have any problems, I don't think, contacting them. His only problems were the ones listed above. Same with another friend of mine who bought from them. They're processing center appears to suck, but they usually get things on time. Make sure you get a hold of someone to make sure your order gets processed correctly and everything should turn out ok.

Well, don't wait per say.... Keep calling them until you know your order is processed and shipped according to what they're telling you...
If they said it would be processed and shipped today, call them this afternoon and check. Once they say it shipped, it's good from what I've seen. I mean, my other buddy, they didn't ship it when they said they would because of a processing error, after the follow up call, they apologized, upgraded his shipping to next day and still got it to him on time.

After so much trouble, they informed me it should be an import model, waranty 90 days... I just cancel it and went to b@h.
I feel more save now.
