i shoot weddings for a living. with my other cameras i use a bracket so that the flash is always precisely over the lens, whether horizontal or vertical. this way i get no shadows behind my subject. when i use s2pro it doesn't work, due to the higher profile body on the camera. does anyone know of a bracket that works?

I have in my "collection" 9 different flash brackets in varying states of condition. The ones I really like are the Jones brackets, now sold by www.veachco.com the same company that makes the Hot Foil Stampers, and sells the 'foto white' clothes. I've got about 3 maybe 4 makes but the Jones seems to be more durable, having used them since 1990, back when Mr. Jones was making them and selling them. He decided to retire and the photo industry almost lost these, when Veach picked them up and continued to manufacture them just before Jones gave up finding a buyer. They do an excellent job of keeping the flash centered. I am not aware of any stores sellilng them, just the website now or call direct 1-800-523-9944

The bracket you use really depends on the flash that you use. I use a Nikon Speedlight SB-24 mounted on a Stroboframe Quickflip 350. I mount it on an Nikon SC-17 extension cord that gets wraped many times around the frame. This $49.95 bracket puts the flash directly over the lens in either H or V positions with just a flip. I replace the camera mount screw with the flat screw from an old Metz bracket so the camera and frame will sit flat on a table. I also mount a Gary Fong style diffuser on the flash and get great results.

We use the strob-a-frome ProRL. It will let you rotate the camera vertical and horizontal and gets the flash up nice and high over the lens. We got a anti twist plate for it and it works well with the S2. We use Quantum battery packs and the 1+ snaps right to the lower part of the frame. Heres a pick below of how it looks.
