Here is another deer shot taken yesterday. We came across a whole flock, and step by step we could get closer and closer to them. For me it is a plus that one of them turned its head to look straight at me.

cheers,

Jes

Jes,

Lovely light and nice photograph. There is a good flow in this crowd. Knowing that English is not your first language I hope you won't mind this correction; it's a herd of deer, and if they were geese, it would be a flock. I could go on about a pod of whales, a pride of lions and a murder of crows, but you already know that English is hardly a logical language. :)

Cheers

I thought a "flock" of geese was properly referred to as a "gaggle". Not all bird groups are called a flock. For example you have a covey of quail. I do believe that you do have a flock of flamingos. Not all groups of grazing mammals are a herd either. I think you have a "crash" of Rhinoceros rather then a "herd".

That being said I have to say that the deer shot is great. You could probably sell it for "groß gelt" which in English means "a lot of doe" or "big bucks".

call 'em what you want.

That's a cool shot, I like the light :)

MUCH different than our local deer.

Jes

Lovely warm tones - good shot :righton:

Agree also that the correct term is a herd, but what about Santa's flying reindeer? Surely they would be a flock? :)

Just wondering what the collective term for photographers is.........

Right you are Wayne, looks as if I can use an English lesson too.

How about a "senate" of Owls?

Great image Jess. I almost expect to see Santa's sleigh following along behind :)
