Giraffe Abuse

When we were at the Santa Barabara zoo this weekend we came upon this site at the giraffes section. At first we could not figure out why this giraffe was ball chained to a tree. This was causing quite a scene from spectators. But as we found out later, he had gotten himself into this predicament by getting himself stuck in the food holder. I was afraid he was going to hurt himself and end up like the last picture - the giraffe with the crooked neck. They say that she was born with this disfigurement and it got worse as she got older. She doesn't seem to be in any pain and gets around just fine like the others and has even given birth.
