Are these examples of the S2 CCD problem?

Below are two examples of pic's my S2 took recently. About 2 weeks ago it started doing this after a battery change. It is the infamous 32a... serical number series. I am trying to get a better handle on this before I send it to Fuji. I appreciate all input. Thanks

Yes...you are about to get the "CCD black screen" (of death). Contact Fuji ASAP.

my S2 would have been fine. It's been fine since I bought it two years ago, then I read the messages about CCD failure and saw my serial number matched the CCD failures beginning with arty looking images like Jesse's posted here. Next thing my S2 starts doing the same.

What is the experience with Fuji's response - have they covered the repair, or am I going to be out big $$$?

sent it to them, they fix and send it back. you pay to send it there i think. taskes 2days to 2 weeks.

I checked in with Fuji yesterday - they have had the camera a week now. The word is that the camera is being repaired, and there will be no charge to me. They said I should see it in about another week. Good on them :righton:

I've not been able to see any photos worth taking all summer - the photo muse has been dormant. Of course, now that the camera is off in NJ, I see all sorts of photographic possibilities.

The camera was delivered via FedX on 10-17-05. CCD replaced and camera cleaned up.

Oh, it also works.

But the big, bright viewfinder in my Nikon N90S I used in its stead, the fact that the Fuji just decided to go, "poof", and running into a pro landscape art photographer who only shoots film, because that's what people buy, have combined to take the shine off of my enchantment with digital.
