Got a short warning when I was dragonfly hunting today... lucky I didn't have the spotted dog with me!

I never did get to see the whole snake, but I did see the end of it.

Oh now wait a second.....!!!!! I just was invited tonight and it's major thing for me to the western show (they shoot at targets and such on horseback, like barrel racing with guns) and it's in Tehachapi in two weeks thats in the desert! Uh they have snakes there! OMG it's over a weekend we were gonna camp under the stars since it's on a big private ranch, like heck I'm sleeping with snakes, I'm staying in my Sequoia with the windows up and the a/c on! Wonder if my dad would let me borrow his big motorhome, I might need to go to the bathroom during the night and I'm not going outside! Great Rich, now I'm really gonna sleep well tonight, sweet dreams!!! BTW glad your ok :)

Yeow!! Watch your step Rich, the next one could be your last with these critters around! :eek: Nice "shot", but I would rather have it done with something that makes more noise :rolleyes:

Melody - better watch out when you gotta go to the bathroom. Snakes like to hunt at night.....

Yeah yeah worse during the day if you ask me.....I've camped in the desert since I was real little, still don't like snakes.....my grandfather taught me to shoot when I was about 7 and my aim isn't bad at all. Typically with lots of activity they are no where around, but horses with their feed tend to attract mice etc. which uh then leads to snakes and stuff...... let's just say no one or nothing better sneak up or startle me....cause I won't be pressing a shutter button but a trigger. I can scare them, blonde with a gun would you hide? ;) OH wait lots of "macho" type men will be there with firearms........sheesh that's more scarey then a darn snake! :eek:
