is there anyone who has actually USED the recently updated OSX ver? can they give me some feedback on how it works, how you managed to get it installed etc...
I have heard several complaints about the installation process. How can small shareware developers do this well and Fuji can't?... :(

Yeah I know... it's just I'd like to separate the people who tell you where to go, from the people who have actually managed to install and use the software in a real production enviroment.

I would be happy to answer any question I can. The install was pretty easy, have done it on two machines. I have been processing batches of raf files. Have not yet tethered the camera to the new shooting software, but will probably do that on monday.
All in all a happy OSX user - Fuji has delivered a very functional update of the previous software, but have yet to deliver professional quality software on par with Kodak, PhaseOne, or Imacon.
Has anyone used the Luma back with the GSX6800II? Are they delivering a more professional product there?
the software specs listed on the fujifilm site are as follows:
SOFTWARE FEATURES
* Capture to host computer RAM
* Selectable automatic Save and/or Export work flow
* Powerful batch processing features
* Contact sheet printing
* Compact (lossless) 16-bit native file format
* File format: 8 or 16-bit TIFF color
* Multi-pop/multi-image exposure
* Pan, zoom
* Movable digital loupe
* Direct-reading output-unit tape measure
* Spot-metering
* Multi-point tone curve control
* Set single or multiple neutral points
* Digital exposure control
* Real-time visual feedback for tone changes
* Movable scalable grid overlay
* Image scaling and cropping
* Histogram metering
* Visual tone range highlight

So no Installer stallling or anything like I have read elsewhere?... Do I need to install the OS 9 version onto my machine or can the updater use the Cd in the CD drive?

The Fuji website states that you need the old software on the machine in order for the OS X code to install properly...

The steps i took to install in OSX -
1. download and unstuff the 2016 updater
2. trash all old fuji applications
3. put the Hyper Utility CD into the disc drive
4. the updater consists of a .pkg and an application - run the application, not the package. It will put up a dialogue box that says to clik ok once you have inserted the Hyper CD. Clik OK
5. It installs, you restart and wham bam you have software.
Same procedure for the CAMERA SHOOTING SOFTWARE (has the fuji team ever been to www.engrish.com?)

I've tried to install it twice on a PowerBook G4 and keep getting this "cannot be installed on this machine" message...
So I dumped that and downloaded another copy this time I downloaded a word file that I don't recall seeing before...
(This has taken place in the last two days mind you)
So I'm now back to the loading process. Right now we only have one Mac that is on OS9.22 which is specifically due to Fuji not having software that is OSX ready. I sure hope that this works out well. We shoot probably 75% or more of our images teathered.

Hi Andy,
It was a file that was written in MS Word... It was downloaded on the second time that I did my download.
GOOD NEWS! I got the program installed. Haven't had a chance to use it teathered..
More later,
Phil

Hi phil - glad to hear it installed for you.... curious about that word file. My download (from both Fuji US and Fuji JP) came with two files - a ".pkg" and an generic "application". The .pkg contains all the files, the app is the program that checks for the presence of the Hyper Utility Software CD, and allows the install to proceed. Cliking the .pkg file brings up the OS X install program with a message "this software cannot be installed on this computer".
